Our PC-based Dose Calibrator ISOMED 2010 is designed for the fast and accurate determination of the activity or volume activity of radiopharmaceuticals that are used in the nuclear medicine for diagnostics and therapy. The dose calibrator is calibrated for all common radionuclides, including the RSO nuclides (Y-90, Er-169, Re-186) and the PET nuclides (e.g. F-18, I-124). The influencing factors for containers (e.g. syringe, eluate bottle, capsule) and contents are considered in the measurement.

The dose calibrator ISOMED 2010 is the further development of the successful models ISOMED 1010 and ISOMED 2000. Above all, the long-term quality and user-friendliness of the predecessor models served as a basis for the current model. In addition to the optimized device software, which is also Windows 7 compatible, the measuring chamber is now connected with the PC system via USB interface. Virtually every modern PC system can be used, regardless of manufacturer's brand or design. The dose calibrator ISOMED 2010 is a certified medical device class II b.

Versions

In our standard delivery program, the ISOMED 2010 is available with the following PC systems:
  1. NetTop, on request with standard TFT monitor, possibly with touch screen function
  2. Terminal PC (as in the predecessor model ISOMED 2000) with integrated touch screen
  3. Standard PC (as in the predecessor model ISOMED 1010), for example Mini-PC or Micro-Tower, on request with standard TFT monitor, possibly with touch screen function

Other PC systems possible on request (e.g. Notebook). In addition to the above mentioned complete systems, we also offer a basic module consisting of measuring chamber and ISOMED 2010 program. The PC system and the monitor can be provided by the customer or supplier.

Thanks to its small dimensions, the nettop-PC can be mounted behind the TFT monitor. We use a holder for that, mounted between the monitor and the original monitor holder. Both a desktop version (see picture) as a wall version, eventually with ejectable VESA arm are possible.
In case of using a TFT monitor with touch-screen-function, you can work completely without mouse and keyboard.

The terminal-PC is a PC-system with 12.1" touch-screen integrated in one housing. This housing is available with a desktop or wall holder, on request also with an ejectable and/or swivable arm. The terminal-PC is particularly interesting for those sites having already a certain number of terminal-PC-systems.

The mini-PC is available as a small desktop-PC or as a microtower and is mainly used in those locations where it is possible to build in the system, for example behind the cover of a hot cell or below a work bench.

Types of measuring chambers

The dose calibrator uses a gas filled chute ionization chamber as a detector system. Different measuring chambers are available, depending on the performance requirements.




The standard measuring chamber type 640 000 is calibrated for all radionuclides used in nuclear medicine and radio pharmacy. Further nuclides can be added. Other measuring chambers (e.g. type 640 000-18) are calibrated only for PET nuclides. We can also deliver special measuring chambers for PET activities > 1000 GBq.

The measuring chamber is connected via USB interface. On request, e.g. to complete existing ISOMED dose calibrators, the measuring chamber can also be supplied with connection via I/O module – as with the predecessor models ISOMED 1010 and ISOMED 2000 – (ISOMED 2010 "classic" only in combination with standard PC).

Quality control

The ISOMED 2010 program contains a menu item for quality control in which some additional quality control features (e.g. response, linearity, constancy test) required by DIN 6855-11 are already integrated. Each check can be selected here and can be executed very simply by following the onscreen instructions. After completion, the results can be stored and/or printed. The 2010 ISOMED protocols meet the requirements of the medical authorities to provide evidence for the quality checks carried out.

Quality control - Responsiveness

Qualitätskontrolle

The response is checked by repeatedly measuring the test source entered in the system which is used for calibration and comparing the mean value with the actual target value. The deviation and the maximum spread between the individual measured values are displayed.

To check the linearity, the highest activity of a short-lived nuclide is measured repeatedly until the activity has decayed to the value stored in the system. The results of all measurements can be represented in tabular form.

In addition to the tabular representation, the linearity curve can also be represented graphically. All measurement results and representations can be stored, printed and exported.

Quality control - Constancy check

Qualitätskontrolle

The constancy test compares the target value of a test source with the actually measured value. Nuclide and activity of the test source, however, are freely selectable.

Test source

Prüfstrahler

A test source to is needed to determine the response for the quality control to be carried out regularly (DIN 6855-11). We recommend using a long-lived Cs-137 test source with approx. 5 MBq. The test source is delivered in a lead shielding.

In accordance with DIN 6854, the Mo-99 breakthrough has to be measured for each Tc generator as quality control. In the Quality control menu, the so-called Mo-99 breakthrough is determined through a defaulted test series with/without the shielded molybdenum kit.

In order to rule out or reduce any influence of radiation from the working area of the hot laboratory, is it important to shield the measuring chamber of the dose calibrator with lead rings, especially when working with PET nuclides. The additional shielding is available in 20 mm and 50 mm. At the same time, the shielding serves as radiation protection for the laboratory staff.

Lift system

In order to reduce the radiation exposure when working with highly active samples and/or with a measuring chamber that is incorporated in a production cell or a LAF box, the sample can be transported into the measuring chamber via a lift system. We offer both pneumatic and electric lift systems which are all controlled via the dose calibrator.

To be able to assign the measurement results (e.g. activity, nuclide, time) directly to a prepared syringe, we recommend using a label printer which is connected to the dose calibrator.

Syringe filling system

An essential factor for radiation exposure which may occur, for example, in the hot laboratory of a PET-CT system, is the process of drawing up the PET activity from the delivered supply container (e.g. 20ml vial) into the syringe. If this process is carried out manually, there is a relatively high radiation exposure risk of the lab staff. MED offers an automated, shielded syringe filling system as an accessory to the PC-based dose calibrator.

Radiopharmaka-Management-Software

The RPM software is a tool for the entire area of radio chemistry / radio pharmacy and nuclear medicine. The software documents the production process of the radioactive medications in compliance with GMP, including all necessary additives, records the production and documents the application in the patient.
The program is designed for the administration of both preparations and ready-to-use radiopharmaceuticals. The measured values can be transferred automatically from the dose calibrator ISOMED 2010. An optional HL7 module is available for connection to a RIS system. This module allows you to receive patient data from RIS, supplement and transmit them again to RIS.

The radiopharmaceuticals management software RPM is delivered with unlimited customer license. No further or recurring license fees are due!
